Hello, World — A New Chapter
Welcome to my corner of the internet.
I’ve been meaning to build a personal site for years. Something that felt mine — not a template, not a LinkedIn mirror, not a GitHub README dressed up in HTML. A real space where I could write, think out loud, and show work I’m proud of.
This is that space.
Why now?
Honestly? Because I got tired of waiting for the right moment. The right moment doesn’t come. You make it.
So I built this site with SvelteKit, TailwindCSS, and a lot of intentionality about what I actually want to say. The design choices are deliberate: the typography, the dark palette, the slow animations. I wanted something that felt cinematic and calm — like a space where ideas could breathe.
What I’ll write about
A few things I care deeply about and plan to explore here:
- The craft of software engineering — not tutorials, but the why behind decisions. Architecture, tradeoffs, lessons learned the hard way.
- Building products that matter — what it looks like to ship things with intention, from first principles to production.
- Creative technology — the intersection of design, code, and storytelling. This is where I live.
- Reflections — things I’ve learned, questions I’m sitting with, ideas that won’t leave me alone.
Who I am
I’m Wilkin Santana — a creative technologist, engineer, and builder. I work at the intersection of technology, design, and human meaning. I believe in making things that feel right, not just things that work.
Beyond the code: I’m curious about systems, aesthetics, language, and the hidden structures that shape how we experience the world.
This site is part portfolio, part journal, part experiment.
